Some of you may be wondering where the information that used to be on this site about our Plant Spirit Wisdom course, plant spirit treatment and herbal medicine consultations has gone. Don’t worry, simply click on the one you are interested in to go to the original page. We are in the process of moving them across to another site (still under construction) for the sake of clarity and to make both sites more user-friendly. A new 7-day course Plant Spirit Wisdom and the Five Emotions, begins in Spring 2012. We are also planning a 5-day retreat - Plant Spirits of the Mediterranean - in a wonderful location in the mountains of eastern Spain, in Autumn 2012. Subscribe to our newsletter to be kept informed!
Rights for Nature to be enshrined in Bolivia's Constitution
Another thing we always look forward to is receiving the latest copy of the hugely inspiring Permaculturemagzine. In the current issue we were delighted to read that earlier this year Bolivia is to follow Ecuador's brave step in making protection of nature part of the country's constitution. Both countries recognise that the planet and its ecosystems deserves the right to a healthy life and this right needs to be protected by law. Article 1 of Ecuador's constitution states:
“Nature or Pachamama, where life is reproduced and exists, has the right to exist, persist, maintain and regenerate its vital cycles, structure, functions and its processes in evolution. Every person, people, community or nationality, will be able to demand the recognitions of rights for nature before the public bodies.”
The draft of Bolivia's new law, la Ley de Derechos de la Madre Tierra, or “Law of Mother Earth,” states:
“She is sacred, fertile and the source of life that feeds and cares for all living beings in her womb. She is in permanent balance, harmony and communication with the cosmos. She is comprised of all ecosystems and living beings, and their self-organisation.“
